(Sharpie)ning My Crafting Skills

Greetings again from Craftland! I must have inhaled too many Sharpie fumes because I simply cannot stop coloring things with them. Seriously. I've moved onto canisters. You'll see! Tim needed to go to the office supply store for some nerdy computer goods and I saw these bad boys...
How could I possibly resist? I'm telling you it was like the Sirens calling to Odysseus, except I didn't have cotton in my ears. So I bought them! What else could I do? Tim was being stubborn, not asking for help to find the dodads he wanted and I was left there alone with these beauties! Seventeen dollars later...
I completed everything you see above in one night! I was proud. I would draw a line and tell Tim to look. I was excited, to say the least. I was on a sort of diamond kick and finished with a flowery peacock flourish!
I was feeling particularly adventurous and I began with the canister first. I wasn't quite sure what I wanted to accomplish; I only knew I wanted something cute and different. I let my creativity wander and I found myself drawing diamonds all over this canister. I wanted to add a POP of color so I used my new pink and orange Sharpies for some extra kick!
The same idea traveled onto this dainty little mug that is just so stinkin' cute now! It's too bad that I drink way too much coffee to even consider this a practical everyday sort of coffee mug...
And finally, without further ado, I introduce this bad boy! I must say that I may have gotten carried away with this one... However, no matter the delirium, I still think it came out pretty neat.

Okie dokie, Artichokie. That's it. Another craft post on my blog. It's been fun. It's been real. It's been fun and real. Let me know if you're out there, anyone. Someone. Hello?

Until we meet again.... Bon soir!

Starting the Craft Storm- Hurricane A-Brewin

Diving straight into the craft world, I have obtained for myself a suitcase full of potential projects for the summer ahead. Though I believe I am in way over my head, I am carrying on into the vast abyss that is Craftland. Hoping to accomplish my goals for the summer, I have started and completed a few projects. Here are some of my first (sort of petty) attempts.

Ever the nerd, I started out my crafting adventure with my very own Game of Thrones mug. I am quite proud of this one, and Cowboy seems to like it as well.
I then moved onto another mug. My original intention was a sort of colorful rainbow mug. However, due to my oven's tendency to fluctuate and my inattentiveness to the passage of time, it has come out like you see above. Still cool. I still give myself crafting props.
This week I decided to indulge in my love of wine. Using crafting as an excuse for drinking, I covered my leftover wine bottles in yarn. Things got very messy with this one. I had Elmer's glue EVERYWHERE. I grossed Cowboy out by pretending it was dead skin. I laughed. He didn't approve. Though the cat really, really enjoyed the yarn part. Fun for all! (Except Cowboy).
Lastly, I forced Cowboy into his first craft project. His bowl is the one on the bottom right. White shmite! Who needs to eat out of plain ol' bowls, anyway? I am super duper happy with the way these have come out! Love them! Though we haven't eaten out of them yet.... Which has more to do with our lack of cooking skills than our willingness to use them, I think.

Okay, Lovecats. This is it. The first post to the first blog I have ever created. It is meager. It is simple. It is lackluster. But it's something and I'm proud. I am open to suggestions for future projects, requests, words of wisdom, anything. We can even talk about the weather if you like.

Until then... Adios!
