Every Craft Cannot Be a Success.... A Humble Tale

It's been too long since my last blogging post. I've been lacking in inspiration and I believe, sincerely, that it has been caused by my last crafting failure. I have no trouble admitting that I am a novice crafter, new to the trade and unknowing in most things required for the projects I attempt.

However, I should have known better this time.

Here are some pictures of my feeble crafting:

Nothing went according to plan. The mugs, seen above pictured during the crafting process, no longer appear to have been crafted upon. At all. I fired them in the oven. I used porcelain paint. And it all washed off. I don't know where I went wrong. But, trying to work through this crafting lull, I have summoned pictures for further crafting inspirations.

Pictured below are some of my Inspirations and Elations. May they also revive in you a crafting spirit.

Happy crafting, friends!

Fini Fini Finito! Jewelry Box Complete!

That's it, folks. It's finished. My hard work and toil over this piece has ended. Are you ready to see it? Are you sure? Maybe I should wait a bit more... Hmmmmmmm? Okay then, I'll show you.

Drum roll please!

I bet you are impressed. I know I was. I would pat myself on the back if not for the outrageous sunburn that has currently taken over my body. Want to see more? (Of the box, not my sunburn) Of course you do!

Ah yes, camera angles.

Side view, very nice...

And there is a detailed front view of the top of the box. I love it. I've worked hard on it and I hope it shows, all jokes aside. I've been having so much fun doing all of these craft projects this summer and I can't wait to get started on another!

Until then, amigos (and amigas? I didn't take Spanish in school), ADIOS!
Bless your little hearts and God bless!

Progress Update! And more popsicle stick goodness!

Okay, Little Duckies, I think I've bitten off more than I can chew this time. Rather, I think I've started too many projects at once. I've been concentrating most of my efforts on finishing the "renewal" of an old jewelry box. I've covered it in popsicle sticks (I can't seem to get enough of those) and I've given it a white base coat. It has taken more time to finish than I planned (and the project has taken out many eyeballs-- flying popsicle sticks!) and I hate to say it, but I'm a little burned out for the time being. Here are some sneak peaks of my progress thus far:

The jewelry box had a few scuffs, a few knicks, and a few knacks. But I still loved it. It had a certain.... Je ne sais quoi!

After some careful plotting (meaning I was just playing with the wood scraps given to me by Mrs. Sonja) I arranged the little wooden gems into a design on the top of the box.
And now, in the dim twilight, I have given my creation its first coat of paint. If I am, by chance, so enamored with the white paint, the box may stay that way.

I know you are waiting with baited breath for the results. I know I am! But for now, this little snippet post will have to do. Until we meet again, I leave you with some yarn wine bottle appreciation (courtesy of my coworkers and manager).

Cut Glass

This is going to be a quick post!  This is just at tease of what's to come. I can only hint at my next project but it's going to be a weird one!

Tim and I had so much fun cutting these bottles in half!  I'll post pictures later of what I'll do with them.

I hope everyone has a wonderful and blessed night!

Knobs, knobs, and more knobs!

Hey there,  y'all!  So it would seem like I have finished another craft project!  This time I've painted some brass drawer pulls and I've made a complete mess!

I had to do a white base coat and I did some swirls and.... Voila!  I have my very own knobs!  I'm not entirely sure what I want to do with them yet but I'm excited to have finished another project!

Meanwhile,  I put a new collar on Mr. Kitty and he is now sulking in the bottom of my closet.

Anyway, until next time, my dear sweet friends, good night!

So..... I bought some popsicle sticks...

For those who do not know how hot Hot Glue is, I will tell you it is, in fact, very hot.  Tim kept telling me that the lampshade looked like a teepee.

Jack I think had the most fun.  I may have just made a decorative cat toy.

Any whoo there it is.  Another day. Another craft. Something else for my cat to destroy.  I hope everyone (I mean the two people that look at my blog) has a very wonderful week!  Until next time...

(Sharpie)ning My Crafting Skills

Greetings again from Craftland! I must have inhaled too many Sharpie fumes because I simply cannot stop coloring things with them. Seriously. I've moved onto canisters. You'll see! Tim needed to go to the office supply store for some nerdy computer goods and I saw these bad boys...
How could I possibly resist? I'm telling you it was like the Sirens calling to Odysseus, except I didn't have cotton in my ears. So I bought them! What else could I do? Tim was being stubborn, not asking for help to find the dodads he wanted and I was left there alone with these beauties! Seventeen dollars later...
I completed everything you see above in one night! I was proud. I would draw a line and tell Tim to look. I was excited, to say the least. I was on a sort of diamond kick and finished with a flowery peacock flourish!
I was feeling particularly adventurous and I began with the canister first. I wasn't quite sure what I wanted to accomplish; I only knew I wanted something cute and different. I let my creativity wander and I found myself drawing diamonds all over this canister. I wanted to add a POP of color so I used my new pink and orange Sharpies for some extra kick!
The same idea traveled onto this dainty little mug that is just so stinkin' cute now! It's too bad that I drink way too much coffee to even consider this a practical everyday sort of coffee mug...
And finally, without further ado, I introduce this bad boy! I must say that I may have gotten carried away with this one... However, no matter the delirium, I still think it came out pretty neat.

Okie dokie, Artichokie. That's it. Another craft post on my blog. It's been fun. It's been real. It's been fun and real. Let me know if you're out there, anyone. Someone. Hello?

Until we meet again.... Bon soir!
